Cookies

Cookies are small files that enable specific, device-related information to be stored on the users’ access device (PC, smartphone or such like). On the one hand, they make web pages more user-friendly, thereby benefiting users (e.g. by saving login data). On the other hand, they are used to record statistical data about website use and to analyse such data with a view to improving the site. Users can affect the way in which cookies are used. Most browsers have an option enabling the storage of cookies to be restricted or completely prevented. However, users’ attention is drawn to the fact that use and, in particular, ease of use are restricted without cookies.

You can manage many online advertising cookies from companies via the American site www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU site www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/.

Users can also select their settings by visiting the following platforms: IAB Opt -Out Plattform and Network Advertising Initiative Opt -Out Plattform, which offer options for making a decision for all companies registered on this platform.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files which are stored on users’ computers and make it possible to analyse how they use the website. The information generated by the cookie about how users use this website is usually transmitted to, and stored on, a Google server in the USA.

However, in the event of the activation of IP anonymization on this website, Google will truncate users’ IP address beforehand in member states of the European Union or in other states party to the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will users’ full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. IP anonymization is active on this website. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating how users use the site, compiling reports on website activities and providing the operator with other services relating to website and Internet usage.

Google Analytics will not combine the IP address transmitted by your browser with any other data held by Google. You may select a corresponding setting in your browser software to prevent cookies from being saved; please note, however, that, if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from recording data generated by cookies relating to your use of this website (including your IP address) and from processing such data by downloading and installing the browser plugin that is available from the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

By way of alternative to the browser-add-on or within browsers on mobile devices, please click on this link to prevent future acquisition of data by Google Analytics within this website. This will store an opt-out cookie on your device. If you delete your cookies, you will need to click on this link again.

This website uses Google Analytics reports on demographic characteristics, in which data from Google’s interest-based advertising and third party visitors information (for example, age, gender and interests) are used. These data are not attributable to a specific person and can always be disabled via the display settings.

Google AdSense

This website uses Google AdSense, a service to incorporate Google Inc. (“Google”) adverts. Google AdSense uses what are known as “cookies” – these are text files which are stored on your computer to enable an analysis of website use. Google AdSense also uses what are known as Web Beacons (invisible graphics).

These Web Beacons allow information such as visitor traffic to the website to be analysed.
The information generated by the cookies and Web Beacons about your use of this website (including your IP address) and delivery of advertising formats are transferred to a Google server in the USA and saved. This information can be forwarded by Google to Google contract partners. However, Google will not combine your IP address with other data stored about you.

You can prevent cookies being installed by changing a setting in your browser software, but please be aware that this may mean you are not able to use all the website functions to their full extent. By using this website, you agree to the processing by Google of the data collected from you in the manner and for the appropriate purposes.

Facebook

This site uses social plugins (“plugins”) provided by the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are identifiable by one of the Facebook logos (white “f” on a blue tile or a “thumbs- up” sign) or are flagged by the phrase “Facebook social plugin”. You can view the list and appearance of Facebook social plugins here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

If users visit a page of this site that contains a plugin of this type, their browser will create a direct link to the servers of Facebook. Facebook will transmit the content of the plugin directly to their browser, which will integrate it into the web page. The provider therefore has no control over the amount of data that Facebook collects using this plugin and therefore informs users based on its state of knowledge:

The integration of the plugins enables Facebook to receive information that a user has visited the relevant page of the site. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to his or her Facebook account. If users interact with the plugins, by, for example, pressing the “Like” button or posting a comment, their browser will transmit the relevant information directly to Facebook, where it will be stored. If a user is not a member of Facebook, it is still possible for Facebook to discover and store his or her IP address. According to Facebook, only an anonymized IP address is stored in Germany.

Users can find out about the purpose and scope of data capture as well as the further processing and use of data by Facebook and related rights and setting options to protect user privacy in Facebook’s privacy policy at: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data about him or her via this site and to link such data to his or her member data stored at Facebook, he or she will need to log off from Facebook before visiting the website. Another option is to use add-ons, such as “Facebook Blocker”, to block Facebook social plugins for your browser.

Google+

This site may use the “+1″ button of the social network Google Plus, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). The plugins are identifiable by the “+1″ on a white or colored background.

When a user visits a web page containing such a button, the browser establishes a direct connection with Google’s servers. The content related to the “+1″ button is transmitted from Google directly to its browser which embeds the latter into the website. The provider therefore has no influence on the amount of data that Google collects with the button. According to Google, no personal information is collected without clicking on the button. Such data, including the IP address, are collected and processed, only for logged-in members.

Regarding the purpose and scope of data collection and further processing and use of data by Google, as well as your rights and settings options for protecting your privacy, users can read Google’s privacy notices to the “+1″ button found in: http://www.google.com/ intl / en / + / policy / + 1button.html and FAQ: http://www.google.com/intl/de/+1/button/.
